Henrici Heitzii, Universitatis Topogr., 1778. 4to [20.5 x 16.7 cm], [1] f., 26 pp., with woodcut head-piece. Loss to bottom corner of lower cover. Minor edge wear to last few leaves.

Rare (no U.S. copies) first and only edition of this Strasbourg dissertatio on the legal concept of jus adcrescendi, which in Roman law, is the right of survivorship, i.e., the right of the survivor or survivors of two or more joint tenants to the tenancy or estate, upon the death of one or more of the joint tenants.

While some will find this Latin legal text beautiful, many more will find beautiful this copy’s wrapper of contemporary Brokatpapier depicting birds and flowering plants.
